The Story of Cigars to the Troops

In 2004, Clay Carlton was at his barber shop in Vail Colorado.  As he was reading through a cigar enthusiast's magazine, a Colonel approached Clay and requested that a premium cigar be sent to a soldier in Iraq.  In a heartfelt response to this sincere request, Clay personally hand-rolled what was to become the first of many entire boxes of cigars to be sent to American service members in Iraq.

A local news reporter caught wind of Clay’s generosity and word soon spread of his simple, (but powerful), patriotic gesture.  This inspired many other Americans - first fellow Vail residents, then from further and further afield - to lend their support.

Who We Are

Many people find themselves drawn in by our growing global exposure through newspaper articles, television segments and radio spots. We have solid, ongoing support from local communities in Denver and Vail Colorado. and the gratitude of the friends and families of service members whom we are able to support. Through our presence at many private, corporate and non-profit events, we are able to spread the word and further our cause. If you would like to have us at your event please feel free to contact us.
